    1 (800) 207-8222 to schedule an appointment for your small business non-recyclable household hazardous waste.

  • Recyclable household hazardous waste can be brought to the
    Cal Sierra Transfer Station at 19309 Industrial Drive, Sonora
    or the Groveland Transfer Station at 10700 Merrell Road, Groveland.

  • Mattresses, Passenger Tires, and E-waste are all accepted for FREE recycling at the monthly Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events. No appointment required.
    Mattresses, Tires and E-waste are also accepted at the Cal Sierra Transfer Station (19309 Industrial Drive, Sonora) or the Groveland Transfer Station (10700 Merrell Road, Groveland) during operating hours for a fee.

  • If the oil you are trying to dispose of has been mixed with anything, including dirt or water, it is contaminated.
    To dispose of contaminated oil please make an appointment for our monthly HHW Collection event.
    Oil filters are not accepted at the collection event
    Used oil does not mean it is contaminated
    If your oil is not contaminated please bring it to any collection center that takes uncontaminated oil.

  • Treated wood can be brought to the Cal Sierra Transfer Station (19309 Industrial Drive, Sonora) or the Groveland Transfer Station (10700 Merrell Road, Groveland) for disposal during hours of operation.

  • Dispose of your ammonia fridges at the Merced Landfill
    (7040 N. Highway 59, Merced, CA, 95348).
    Please call ahead at (209) 723-4481 ext. 210.

  • For medical sharps: there is a sharps disposal bin at the Cal Sierra Recycling facility located at 14959 Camage Ave, Sonora.
    California also operates a free “take back” program for at-home sharps waste. Order a free mail back package by calling
